VENUE DESCRIPTION
San Paolo Solarino Resturant Bar Melbourne

Solarino
is putting the passion back into dining with a big sicilian flavoured slice of gods kitchen, right here in Melbourne’s CBD.

We seek to offer Melbournians an authentic food experience with fresh ideas and ingredients in a contempory European setting.

Solarino is the exciting concept created by chefs Grant Phelan (Il Solito Posto, Ca De Vin, Roberto’s Ristorante and Aldelphi) and wife Jade Amenta (Sicily, and Magnolia Bakery, Manhattan) along with Dale Phelan (former co-owner of Caffe Panette).

This exact combination of culinary prowess and stuning decor comes to life in the historical glass canopy - covered laneway of Howey Place.

At Solarino, daytime dining is back in fashion with original dishes cleverly projected onto wall menu’s each day. Unlike other eateries in the area, Solarino is open from 6.30 am so you can delight in a real breakfast before strolling into work. You’ll feel right at home with our sizable sleek marble bar surrounded by conversation tables and pockets of inviting and comfortable seating. We’re also equipped with wireless broadband, meaning you can settle in for the afternoon with an espresso in hand.

It’s never been this hot in the kitchen!

Our passionate and experienced hosts guarantee you a warm welcome, enlivened atmosphere and superb Mediterranean flavours.

Solarino is right next to the Hotel Causeway , and lucky guests staying there can order especially from the Solarino menu during opening hours - room service with a dash of culture.
Chefs Grant Phelan and Jade Amenta enjoyed creating this menu, and you’ll simply love tasting it!

Althought the base ingredients are nothing less than authentic, don’t expect typical italian. Traditional flavours become fresh in surprising new combinations, meaning character & originality is infused into every dish. It is equal parts inventiveness and quality without letting things get complicated.

What do the chef’s recommend?

Everything!

Part Melbourne, Part Sicilian, So Solarino!

REVIEWS

My third visit and still in love with Solarino. This time; the antipasto. What a taste treat and washed down with a magnificent white as suggested by our waiter.

Three visits; three wonderful meals. I will be back soon. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
