Burlesque Bar

Inside our knickers: A decadent, darkly wicked wonderland of crimson velvet, gilded mirrors, rich carnivaleque curtains, crystal chandeliers, a checkerboard stage and lashings of kink throughout.

Public play: Curiouser and curiouser…a kooky yet comfortable garden of silk flowers, crimson netting, plush lounges and tables/chairs for those who like it more formal. Colorful caterpillars, playing cards and talking daises watch over from the walls, with a few madcap knickknacks thrown in for good measure. Oh, and did we mention the wood heater?

For those who like it on top: The Boudoir and Deck allow for more intimate affairs, away from the hustle and bustle of the main bar. Relax in the cool blue and gold surrounds with soft couches, a private bar and music to set the mood…whatever it may be.

The Vibe: Freedom is all, and inhibitions are not tolerated in this strange little world. You may be treated to kisses and innuendos from a burly-girl or two perched in the front window as our formidable yet friendly doorman spirits you over the threshold, and a cacophony of crazy characters including a sassy french maid, a darkly wicked Harlequin and the house Madam will ensure that you put your feet (or legs) up. Fun is the key word here, and you'd best be having plenty of it if you know what's good for you!

Sounds to Tease: Jazz and remixed classics- with a generous dose of cabaret glamor and a few foot stomping gypsy tunes thrown in to keep the passions high.
To drink: The usual suspects are joined by a delectably wicked lineup of newcomers named after the bar's resident Burlesque Beauties. Sample a Madame Natalia, Honey B Goode or Lady Chocolat…or if you're feeling adventurous, try the chilli garnished Scarlett. Men and women have lost hearts (and a little more) over much less!

To eat: A delectable array of rather substantial snacks and tapas to covet or share. Canape platters by pre-oder for special occasions.

The crowd: An eclectic gathering of libertines and artists, thrown in with burly-virgins, bored housewives, hens, bucks and whomever was lucky enough to be passing by. The Burlesque Bar welcomes them all…just leave your inhibitions at the door.

Best for: A wickedly fun night out with friends or lover/s. Live Burlesque every night (including Madame Natalia's 'Cirque de Femmes' and the highly controversial adults-only 'Atrocity- Burlesque du Grand Guignol') make this more than just your average bar…it's a whole new world of entertainment, drinking and dining that most don't want to leave.
