The cafe is essentially a re-incarnation of St Jeromes – Melbourne’s beloved laneway haunt for over five years. Far more spacious but in many ways just as cosy, 1000 £ Bend even has a couple of relics from the walls of the old Jerome’s for added familiarity.
With Niccolo coffee at just $2.50 during the morning rush, breakfast, cheap meals, sweet treats and a great selection of local and imported beers, the space has a general laid back approach which can be enjoyed all day long. Add to this free wi-fi, powerpoints and a smoking area, the café is a fine place to gather, sip, talk and maybe perhaps even attempt a little work.
Through the cafe a warehouse-sized gallery space houses rotating exhibitions, installations, fashion parades, projections and what-not.
You are invited to use the cafe space for meetings, workshops and group get-togethers. In the heart of CBD Melbourne, it’s open seven days a week from 8am – 11pm weekdays and 10am – 11pm at weekends.
