The mission of the Hays Inlet Festival is ''Celebrating the people, places and environment of the Hays Inlet catchment and its waterways through a series of environmental, recreational and cultural activities''.

2012 will be the fourth festival and the biggest yet.

The Festival includes a range of events (check calendar in early 2012) aimed at showcasing the region, its environment and all the fun things that people can do (walks, talks, tree plantings and boat rides) and has as its focal point the Family Fun Day at Pelican Park, Clontarf. The Family Fun Day is aimed at local and regional visitors and includes environmental education, markets, music, art, rides, alternative health demonstrations and displays from ecotourism operators.
